Domingo XIV del Tiempo Ordinario

Este domingo se nos invita a reflexionar sobre como Dios camina à nuestro lado en todo momento.

1. En esta primera lectura se describe el modo de entrada (cabalgando en un burro) en el propone ya una realidad nueva, sin la necesidad de la fuerza ni la violencia. Nos muestra la fortaleza de su misericordia, de su ternura, de su sencillez. No necesita aparentar ser poderoso. No necesita gritar para convencer, la fuerza está en sus argumentos y sobre todo en su testimonio de vida.

2. El salmo es un himno de alabanza y acción de gracias a Dios. Está divido en dos partes:

• Alabanza a la realeza y gloria de Dios; manifestadas en sus acciones, hazañas, maravillas, prodigios y obras.
• La segunda parte describe la bondad, fidelidad y misericordia de Dios con todas sus creaturas, especialmente con los más humildes y más desfavorecidos. Porque “El Señor es fiel a sus palabras, bondadoso en todas sus acciones. El Señor sostiene a los que van a caer, endereza a los que ya se doblan”. Un Dios cercano y compasivo, que se compadece de nuestras caídas. Un Dios que sabe comprender y amar a todos. Un Dios que no renuncia jamás a ver el lado bueno de cada persona.

3. La segunda lectura dice: “Ustedes no están sujetos a la carne, sino al espíritu, porque el Espíritu de Dios habita en ustedes. El Espíritu de Dios habita en nosotros, está con nosotros y actúa con nosotros, si lo dejamos actuar. El Espíritu es la fuerza que nos impulsa a lamisión. La dinámica de la carne no tiene nada que ver con el colesterol ylos triglicéridos ni con la obsesión por el sexo. “Vivir según la carne” según san Pablo, es seguir un espíritu egoísta, individualista y ambicioso que me hace olvidar las necesidades de mis hermanos/as y, sobre todo, a Dios.

4. El texto del evangelio de Mateo dice: Jesús "Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque, aunque has ocultado estas cosas a los sabios y entendidos, las has revelado a los pequeños. La fe en Jesus es un don y no el fruto del esfuerzo humano. Para recibir este don hay que hacerse sencillos, hay que abandonar el cumplimento de la ley por abligacion para seguir a Jesus confiadamente. Porque en el versiculo 28 nos dice: “Venid a mí todos los que estáis cansados y agobiados, y yo os aliviaré. Cargad con mi yugo y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón, y encontraréis vuestro descanso”. Él nunca se olvida de nosotros, probemos encontrarnos con él, allí en los lugares de los más necesitados de la tierra, es allí donde ira aumentando nuestra fe.

This Sunday we are invited to reflect on how God walks beside us at all times.

1. This first reading describes the way of entry (riding on a donkey) in which he proposes a new reality, without the need for force or violence. He shows us the strength of his mercy, of his tenderness, of his simplicity. He does not need to appear to be powerful. He does not need to shout to convince, the strength is in his arguments and above all in his testimony of life.

2. The psalm is a hymn of praise and thanksgiving to God. It is divided into two parts:

• Praise to the kingship and glory of God; manifested in his deeds, exploits, wonders, wonders and works.
• The second part describes God’s goodness, faithfulness and mercy to all his creatures, especially to the humblest and most disadvantaged. For “The Lord is faithful to his words, kind in all his deeds. The Lord upholds those who are about to fall, straightens up those who are already bent”. A God who is close and compassionate, who sympathizes with our falls. A God who knows how to understand and love everyone. A God who never renounces to see the good side of each person.

3. The second reading says: “You are not subject to the flesh, but to the Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in you.” The Spirit of God dwells in us, is with us and acts with us, if we let him act. The Spirit is the force that drives us to mission. The dynamics of the flesh have nothing to do with cholesterol and triglycerides or obsession with sex. To “live according to the flesh” according to St. Paul, is to follow a selfish, individualistic and ambitious spirit that makes me forget the needs of my brothers and sisters and, above all, God.

4. The text of Matthew’s Gospel says: Jesus “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, but have revealed them to the little ones.” Faith in Jesus is a gift and not the fruit of human effort. To receive this gift we must become simple, we must abandon the fulfilment of the law out of obligation and follow Jesus with confidence. Because in verse 28 he tells us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find your rest”. He never forgets us, let us try to meet him, there in the places of the most needy of the earth, it is there that our faith will increase
